2012 Hunan
Overview
In the summer of 2012, Love Across the Coast organized our third summer camp at Luxi No.1 High School (湖南省泸溪县第一中学)in Luxi County, a small town in the mountainous area of Hunan Province, China. This year, we also cooperated with Engineering Global Leadership Honor Society, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. The three-week camp was divided into two modules. During Module 1, 14 volunteer teachers and mentors worked closely with 130 students in seminars and collaborative group activities. During Module 2, 11 U Mich volunteers joined the camp and led interactive English workshops in small groups. Ten other volunteers led different mini-projects from which students could choose one to join and work intensively on a self-designed project with peer students.
